On Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:30 a.m., CCHCC’s Health Care Access Task Force attended the opening of the new Carle Clinic location on Curtis Road and Mattis Avenue in Champaign. Community members held signs raising questions about access to health care services gathered on the sidewalk outside the Clinic.
At 11:30a.m., the Task Force held a brief press conference to discuss concerns about Carle Clinic’s new facility.
While the Health Care Access Task Force wishes to congratulate Carle Clinic on their latest expansion, this expansion raises many questions from community members, including issues of local access and transportation. While the Curtis and Mattis location is ideal for multi-county access to Carle Clinic, it is less than ideal for local residents.
