The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is still the law of the land, and private health insurance plans and financial assistance are available through the Marketplace (healthcare.gov [1])!
This year, the Open Enrollment period for a 2018 ACA Marketplace plan, is only 45 days long – from November 1 through December 15, 2017. Consumers who need to purchase their health insurance through the Marketplace need to get ready!
Please plan to attend CCHCC’s ACA Open Enrollment Community Meeting – Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the Champaign Public Library (200 W. Green Street, Champaign).
Topics to be discussed include: Types of health insurance offered through the Health Insurance Marketplace (also known as the ACA / “Obamacare” / healthcare.gov); Financial assistance available to help make health insurance more affordable; Exemptions from the Individual Responsibility Requirement (the “individual mandate”) and how to apply for exemptions; How to know if you qualify for a Marketplace plan with financial assistance, or for Medicaid; How you can get ready for the Marketplace Open Enrollment; How you can help others get the information they need to get covered; Where to go for help (Hint: CCHCC staff are ACA Federally Certified Application Counselors – we can help you get enrolled!).
