If so, please read this update!
June 12, 2018
If you got enrolled into a Health Choice Illinois plan (a Medicaid Managed Care plan) on April 1, 2018, you need to make sure you that you are on the right plan for you!
Too many community members have been “auto assigned” to plans that do not include their health care providers, or do not cover the prescription medications they need, and the time to change plans is running out (June 30, 2018 is the last chance to change!).
Make sure the plan you are on is right for you!
To make sure that your plan is right for you, check with your health care providers to make sure they are “in-network” for that plan (see further below to learn about what plans each major health care provider is accepting).
You should also check with the plan to make sure that all of your prescriptions are covered.
Additionally, the plans vary in the types of additional benefits that they offer, including help with transportation, coverage for adult dental benefits, car seats and diapers for babies, etc., so it is worth it to review which plan is best for you (Medicaid Managed Care Plan Comparison).
Health Choice Illinois Managed Care plans come with “networks” of health care providers. Make sure you choose a plan that includes your healthcare provider.
Here is a list of major health care providers and the plans they accept:
- Carle: Harmony, Meridian, and Molina.
- Christie: Molina.
- Promise Healthcare (Frances Nelson and SmileHealthy): Illinicare, Meridian, and Molina.
- OSF Heart of Mary (formerly Presence): Blue Cross Community, Illinicare, Meridian, and Molina.
- Rosecrance: Blue Cross, Illinicare, Meridian, and Molina
You can check, switch, or review your plan with Health Choice Illinois over the phone at 1-877-912-8880 or online at https://enrollhfs.illinois.gov/enroll.
You can change plans if you need to, but time is running out! Change by June 30, 2018.
You can change your Health Choice Illinois plan if you need to. But your 90-day chance to switch plans ends on June 30, 2018.
What if I have already switched, but want to switch again?
If you have already switched, you cannot switch again for a year.
What if I have regular Medicaid and was not enrolled in a plan on April 1, 2018?
If you did not get enrolled into a Health Choice Illinois Medicaid Managed Care plan on April 1, you might have a different deadline for choosing a plan, or you might not be required to choose a plan.
