We at Champaign County Health Care Consumers (CCHCC) get many calls and questions about the availability of mental and behavioral health services and how to access those.

Our friends at Promise Healthcare offer a variety of Mental/Behavioral health services that are affordable, and accessible in a timely way.

We want to share information with you about their services, and how to access those.

Promise Healthcare Mental/Behavioral Health Services: Promise Healthcare offers the following services:

  • Psychiatric care, including with psychiatric nurse practitioners
  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Substance Abuse Counseling
  • Case Management

Promise Healthcare’s Behavioral Health Groups include:

  • Mothers Pregnancy Group

Promise Healthcare offers extended hours in order to meet community members’ needs:  Promise Healthcare offers appointments early in the day, and during evening hours, and Saturdays, in order to help accommodate patients’ busy schedules.

Promise Healthcare has multiple locations within C-U and Champaign County, including:

  • Frances Nelson Health Center at 819 Bloomington Road in Champaign
  • Urbana School-Based Health Center at 1002 S. Race Street in Urbana
  • 821 S. Neil Street in Champaign
  • C-U Public Health District building at 201 W. Kenyon Rd. in Champaign
  • Rantoul location at 424 E. Wabash Avenue

Another important thing to know about Promise Healthcare is that they offer Integrative “Whole Person” Care!  This means that Promise Healthcare focuses on treating the whole person, not just their problems. They support your overall health by offering and connecting you with physical health services, mental/behavioral healthcare, dental/oral health, and social well-being services.

Accessibility and Affordability of services is a priority at Promise Healthcare. Promise Healthcare is a community-based Federally-Qualified Health Center, and it offers affordable health services for everyone, no matter their insurance status or lack of insurance.
