On Friday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m., Champaign County Health Care Consumers held a press conference to celebrate the 2-year anniversary of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as the ACA or national health reform.
The Affordable Care Act, which was originally passed in March of 2010, put into place many benefits for individuals, small businesses and non-profits.
Health reform implementation has been on-going over the last two years, and during the press conference CCHCC highlighted the new benefits currently available to local consumers and small businesses/non-profits. These benefits include new consumer protections and regulations, new sources for health insurance coverage, and a variety of tax rebates, refunds, and health insurance premium credits.
