Community Meeting: What Ameren isn’t telling you about the 5th and Hill toxic site

On Thursday, August 21, 2008, the 5th & Hill Neighborhood Rights Campaign held a Community Meeting on the toxic site in Champaign.

At the meeting, community members learned about Ameren’s own test results that clearly show toxic contamination in the neighborhood. These test results raise the question of why Ameren, the Illinois EPA, and the City of Champaign continue to say that there is “no immediate threat to human health.”
